- The Role:This role is for a process engineer or process specialist in pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulated production environments.
- The Person:The person will lead engineering projects, support manufacturing and process operations, drive process and equipment improvements, support validation and new product introductions, and maintain SOPs and regulatory documentation.
- Requirements:The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Science, at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, a Lean Manufacturing background, AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an understanding of PLCs.

Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering projects from specification through implementation and turnover.
- Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing and process operations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand and address technical service requirements.
- Identify and implement process and equipment improvements to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support equipment qualification, requalification, and validation activities.
- Support new product introductions and relevant R&D initiatives.
- Review and approve protocols, technical reports, and validation documentation.
- Conduct technical investigations, analyze data, and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, specialists, and technicians.
- Develop commissioning and start-up documentation.
- Create, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare and interpret process layouts, as-built drawings, and equipment schematics.
- Maintain compliance with pharmaceutical quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Science required.
- Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within pharmaceutical, food and beverage, consumer products, or other regulated industries.
- Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, problem-solving capability, and teamwork.
- Proven ability to lead projects and take ownership of systems and initiatives.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of PLCs and process equipment control systems.
