  • The Role:This role is for a Platform Engineering Manager leading an observability and data platform team at a company that builds proxy and web data scraping solutions.
  • The Person:The person will lead the platform team, hire and mentor engineers, manage capacity and risk, align priorities with the Director of Infrastructure, and stay hands-on as a working Tech Lead.
  • Requirements:The ideal candidate has experience leading an engineering team and hands-on experience with MySQL, Kafka or Redpanda, Redis or Valkey, ClickHouse, VictoriaMetrics, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and Prometheus.

You’ll be solving complex challenges and maintaining our own infrastructure with 60PB+ monthly data traffic. Here are its scale and maturity in numbers:
- 6PB+ Ceph storage
- 60PB+ monthly data traffic through our systems
- 300k+ service requests/sec processed
- 500k+ Kafka messages/sec streamed

Oxylabs' Platform is the backbone that lets the rest of engineering move fast and ship reliably. You'll have a significant influence on our DevOps practices and tooling choices.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead Platform team responsible for Observability/Data area and keep delivery consistent.
  • Own people leadership: hire, mentor, and develop engineers; keep the team healthy and performing.  
  • Manage capacity, risk, and dependencies: plan realistically, unblock fast, and handle escalations early.  
  • Align scope and priorities with the Director of Infrastructure (DoI): keep stakeholders aligned and avoid churn.
  • Stay hands-on as a working Tech Lead: with a team of around 2-3 engineers, you'll carry part of the technical lead role alongside management.

    • Your skills & experience:

  • Proven experience leading an engineering team under one of given roles (Team Lead, Squad Lead, Tech Lead).
  • Strong stakeholder management: can translate business needs into a clear plan and keep people aligned.
  • Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset: can make trade-offs, push standards, and improve reliability without slowing the team down.
  • Solid technical foundation: hands-on experience with technologies such as MySQL, Kafka/Redpanda, Redis/Valkey, Clickhouse, Victoria Metrics, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.

    • Salary & Benefits:

  • Gross salary: 6000 EUR/month  - 7600 EUR/gross. Keep in mind that we are open to discussing a different salary based on your skills and experience.
