About the role

About the company

Our client is a healthcare technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a very small engineering group as an early hire, designing backend and data systems from scratch. You will take ownership of projects from start to finish, spotting opportunities on your own and delivering working solutions.

What you'll do

- Build data pipelines that process large volumes of lengthy documents and pull out structured information with language models.

- Design and scale low-latency APIs that handle very high request volumes.

- Translate complex domain criteria into queryable structures and formal logic for deterministic evaluation.

- Own zero-to-one projects end to end, finding high-impact gaps and addressing them without being asked.

- Try out new developer tooling and automation approaches within a small, highly autonomous team.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Between 2 and 6 years of professional backend or data engineering work since graduating, excluding internships.

- Strong Python skills.

- Experience running production systems at scale.

- Experience designing APIs and building high-performance, low-latency services.

- A track record of taking products from nothing to launch.

- A degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics.

- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

- UK right to work or an existing visa that can be transferred.

Bonus points

- Hands-on exposure to systems-level programming languages.

- Background at a trading firm, large technology company, health-tech business or successful startup.
