- The Role: An experienced engineer will provide technical solutions and direction for airframe structural and systems installation design in the aerospace sector.
- The Person: The person will provide technical solutions to production line structural and systems installation issues, prepare structural and interface drawings, direct junior design engineers, and coordinate with stress, systems, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
- Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, eight years of experience in airframe primary and secondary structures design including systems installations, ASME Y14.5 expertise, and experience with CATIA V5, Enovia or Teamcenter/NX.

Job Description
- Provide technical solutions to production line for all structural and system installation issues
- Provide technical direction to junior design engineers to accomplish day-to-day tasks
- Ensure effective management of assigned design activities by closely working with other engineering departments, internal and external customers, Methods, Quality and Procurement
- Maintaining technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to airframe structures
- Closely interface with Stress, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality and test groups
- Prepare structural and systems layouts, interface drawings, installations, assembly and detail drawings
- Support design and program reviews with partners/suppliers
- Status projects for functional management
Qualifications
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- You have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in airframe primary and secondary structures design including systems installations
- You have an understanding of airframe configuration, optimization, loads, stress analysis, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling concepts and structural in-service requirements
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), Dimensional Management, and ability to perform manufacturing tolerance stack ups. Prereferably certification.
- Experience with CATIA V5/Enovia or Teamcenter/NX
- You have an understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and certification procedures
- You have strong leadership, communication and inter-personal skills
- You are able to work in a cross functional team environment and interact on a daily basis with other professionals and technicians
- You have a good working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, CATIA V5, Enovia, Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE), etc.
- Experience on Bombardier business jet platforms is a definite asset, specifically Global 7500.
