Opportunities Available 

As a Human Factors Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the design and development of products offered by Stryker Emergency Care. You will work as a part of cross-functional product design and development teams to champion the perspectives of our users and help to design products that are intuitive, safe, and effective to use. This includes conducting human factors analyses, planning and conducting usability testing, and using human factors principles to provide data-informed design recommendations.

  • Usability testing best practices, including study planning, conduct, and reporting
  • Application of human performance data to real-world product design recommendations  
  • Design, development, and documentation processes for medical devices
  • Real-world collaboration with cross functional partners in areas such as interaction design, industrial design, engineering, quality, and marketing

Majors Targeted:  Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, or Biomedical Engineering.

 

 What You Need​​ 

  • Currently pursing a degree (Master’s preferred) in Human Factors Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in product development (medical device design preferred), user research, and usability testing

  • Understanding of biomechanics, human performance, and/or cognitive processing models

  • Foundational skills in research & experimental design for usability testing and user research

  • Data analysis (qualitative & quantitative) and communication (oral and written) skills

 

 

  

 

$20 min hourly wage – $35 max hourly wage, sign-on bonus, 11 paid holidays annually, and either paid corporate housing or a living stipend, dependent upon hiring location
