About Frontier
Frontier is a new team within Digital, created to explore a fundamentally different approach to product development.

We're building new greenfield digital experiences across web, iOS and Android while developing an AI-powered delivery model that changes how software is designed, built and operated. Rather than using AI as a coding assistant, we're rethinking the entire development lifecycle, combining human judgement with agentic systems to deliver high-quality customer experiences faster and more effectively.

Our mission is to build the next generation of digital experiences while proving a new model for software delivery, where engineers spend less time on repetitive implementation and more time on architecture, design decisions, quality and engineering judgement.

We're looking for engineers who are excited by both modern software engineering and the future of AI-powered product development.

The Role

Build the services and APIs that power the next generation of digital experiences. You'll define the systems, APIs and shared services that sit at the centre of Frontier's architecture. You'll help create the foundations that enable consistent experiences across web, iOS and Android while contributing to a new AI-driven engineering model.

What you’ll do

  • Design APIs, contracts and shared services
  • Build server-side architecture for web and mobile experiences
  • Own domain modelling and systems design
  • Drive integration and contract testing practices
  • Build scalable, observable and secure backend services
  • Contribute to AI-enabled engineering workflows
  • Define backend standards and engineering patterns
  • Help evolve our software delivery platform

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience designing and building APIs, services and backend systems at scale
  • Expertise in domain modelling, integrations and distributed architectures
  • Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure-as-code and modern engineering practices
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery outcomes
  • A passion for solving complex technical problems and building scalable foundations
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, learning quickly and helping shape a brand-new way of building software

What you’ll get

Not only will you receive an awesome candidate experience from our caring Talent team, but you’ll get a genuine feel for who we are and what it’s like to be part of our team.

The benefits of working with The Lottery Corporation are pretty good. Just to name a few:
