  • The Role:This role is for a senior embedded software engineer developing safety-critical avionics software in Linux, Windows and bare metal environments.
  • The Person:The person will develop embedded software for safety-critical avionics systems, integrate and test software in lab and hardware environments, and work on digital simulation, hardware/software integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Requirements:The ideal candidate has 5+ years of embedded software development experience, C++ development, Real-Time Operating Systems, embedded application development in Linux, Windows, and Bare Metal environments, and DO-178C experience.

About the role

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience
  • C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity) 
  • Embedded application development in Linux (ie Yocto/RHEL), Windows, & Bare Metal environments
  • Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments
  • Ability to work onsite 100%
  • Ability to travel 10%

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite)
  • Flight Software Development Experience      
  • Proficient in Python development
  • Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (ie Cameo)
  • Digital simulation (SIL/MIL/HIL) and closed-loop testing
  • Hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
  • Experience with Navigation, Guidance and Control Implementation
  • Experience with Signal Processing Implementation
  • Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
